My clients’ requirements are paramount to all my designs. If these are not addressed then the design has no real purpose

The main points of my architecture are that it must satisfy my clients’ needs, and be fit for purpose in contemporary society. I start with an in depth analysis of the site, brief, including costs, and Council and any other requirements. Design options are worked up for discussion. After examining options one is chosen and a design developed culminating in lodging for DA. I incorporate the principals of long life, low energy, loose fit. I try to develop solutions that are innovative, a delight to the eye and a joy in use. Increasingly I incorporate dual function spaces, largely for inside/outside use but I have also successfully combined reception/dining and entry spaces. This reduces area and associated cost.

Technology is harnessed to support my clients’ aspirations and lifestyle and provide economy in construction and running costs. Where appropriate, I use internal and external blinds, louvres and roof lights to modulate internal comfort conditions. All are power operated for convenience.
